Happy Monday SAMELIA’s WORLD!

Some of you wonder how yours truly can be “Go Get IT,” as a single mom!?!

Believe me it is not easy!

SOo… since some parents I know are newly divorced and are getting their first taste of the single parent life, your truly felt the need to let you know!

Single parents, yours truly understands what it is like raising a little one by yourself. Knowing what it is to go through so much just to keep things going and sometimes you can really feel alone. A lot of people may have their preconceived notions about my life. What they think it must be like because of who my son’s father is and what he does/has done as it relates to his chosen profession. But it doesn’t matter the status of anyone you have a child with.

Valentine's Day love, love, Valentine's Day, Valentines, samelia, samelia's world, samelia miller

At the end of the day, you still have to get out there provide and take care of your child. But you have to get out there and go get it.”

Whether a single mom or dad we all most figure out how to make the single parent life work. Not giving excuses that you cannot work, date, or make it! It is not easy single parenting and doing yours truly favorite hobby (makeup & esthetics) everyday.

It can – and often does – become draining.

As you can always get help, whether it is with childcare, emotional support, a much-needed break, and even child support. Around Valentine’s single parents get so hard on themselves, sad because they have no one in their love life, no one to watch their kids or the realization that they need help becomes even more real.

I think sometimes people are in denial thinking at some point, the other parent will step up and do the right thing for the sake of the child/children, only to be disappointed time and time again when it doesn’t happen consistently – if at all. It is a scary feeling! So, I put together a list of resources that could help because as scared as I was, I knew that I had to build a network of support to help get me through those tough moments.

I believe firmly that if you do right by others, it will come back to you. So regardless of what others chose to do/not do, it won’t change my approach.
